UV – Is just a section of the electromagnetic spectrum. Any object that radiates waves in the UV range can generate UV.

An ultraviolet lamp, also known as a blacklight does that. Blacklights give off near-UV. It’s enough to make many dyes and other substances flouresce.

Fluorescent and mercury vapor lights give off some U.V. (They’re coated
with phosphors designed to limit how much.)
Welding arcs and lightning give off a lot of it.
A tube type TV set will give off some, (again mostly filtered out).
